Vision Originality Technique
ImpactThe first thing apparent with this piece is the exceptional use of texture! There are so many different areas and types of texture within this piece that demand to be handled; a very positive feature in sculptures and exhibit pieces. The choice of moment is also a key element; an uneasily calm subject juxtaposed with the crashing waves really accentuates this piece. The color palette fascinates; a monochromatic effect seems to afford this piece a palpable sense of gravitas or foreboding. I wonder how the affect of the model changes with different display conditions, as it appears it would cast interesting shadows.
