Hand, Carved from Alabaster Stone

Description

I decided to give stone carving a chance, and I'm extremely happy that I did. After sanding and polishing the stone reveals a hidden majesty. The act of carving itself is a measurable ecstasy that I'm very excited to partake in.

WOW At first sight, I thought this was a hand camouflaged as a stone. Amazing!
What interests me most about this is how the organic patterns of the rock make the hand look more surreal. Also the small details of the veins and knuckles are perfect! The hand's position makes it look like it's grabbing the rock. There also is a crack in the middle of the hand. I wonder if this is from cutting or if it was naturally formed in the rock. Either/or, it could also be seen as a scar on the hand or something like that. The rough texture of the uncut rock contrasts with the smooth-cut hand. I believe this is a well-thought-out, well executed, amazing work of art.
